9th International Festival of Choirs Herceg Novi-MFHHN, organized by the "Montenegro Choir Association", will be held from October 3 to 6 in Herceg Novi.
In the competition and showpiece, visitors will have a unique opportunity to enjoy the most popular event. A meaningful program, with high-quality choral performances by youth and adult choirs, will take place in several locations.
The festival will host 24 choirs or 750 participants, coming from Greece, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
The novelty of the festival is a free workshop for conductors and all interested participants who love choral singing. The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 3, in the Park Hall, starting at 6 p.m. The lecturer will be the famous European conductor-violinist Jeroen Beckers from Belgium, member of the Board of Directors of the European Choral Association (ECA) and president of the three-member jury of this year's Festival. Next to him and the jury are conductors Prof. Dr. Milena Injac (SRB) and Prof. Jasenka Ostojić (HR).
The program begins with a revue presentation of six choirs from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Friday, October 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Belavista. The competition, in the categories: B - Youth Choirs, D/D1 - Spiritual Music and D/D2 - Folk Music, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Church of St. Jerome. The official opening of the festival will be held at the Kanli tower at 18:30, with a rich cultural and artistic program.
The revue performance of the festival participants is also planned for Saturday, October 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on the Square under the "Clock", and the competitive part of the program, in categories C1 - male/female and C2 - mixed, continues in the Church of St. Jerome, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The announcement of the results of the competition, awarding of diplomas, certificates of appreciation and prizes for the best is planned on Saturday from 8 pm, in the amphitheater of Dvorana Park, and if the weather does not permit, in Dvorana Park.
The festival ends on Sunday, October 6, with a Revival Concert of Spiritual Music, at 11 a.m., in the Church of St. Jerome.
In case of bad weather, the revue performances planned outdoors, as well as the ceremonial opening of the festival, will be held in the Park Hall.
