Mimosa-adorned Trebinje: welcome to the festival!

A large number of residents and guests of Trebinje greeted the participants of the 56th Mimosa Festival caravan today. The festive parade of majorettes of the senior and junior ensembles, City Music, trombonists and masquerades passed from the "Leotar" hotel to Freedom Square, where the Castel Nuovo band entertained visitors with music.

The promotion of the funnest festival in the region comes to an end with a visit to Trebinje, the sister city of Herceg Novi, said the mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić.

"I am pleased with the large number of visitors today and that is why we can only say that we are on the 14th in Herceg Novi at the opening of the Mimosa Festival." A large number of people from Trebinje are in Herceg Novi every summer, and we are proud to point out that no fewer people from Novi are in Trebinje every day. We cannot do without each other, and together we are much stronger and much stronger. Trebinje and Herceg Novi have excellent cooperation, the best in the last few decades. We have a large number of joint projects", pointed out Ćurić.

The President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić, thanked the sister city of Trebinje and Mayor Ćurić for the welcome, and invited all Trebinje residents to traditionally visit Herceg Novi during the Mimosa Festival.

"Next weekend we expect more than 30 thousand people in Herceg Novi, where concerts of regional stars, traditional festivals, an international carnival, numerous other cultural, sports and entertainment programs will be held." That's why I invite everyone to come to Herceg Novi for the 56th Mimosa Festival, which lasts from February 14 to March 2, and feel the charm of the Mediterranean, the good energy, we want them to feel at home and enjoy the over 50 programs we have prepared," said Katic.

The mutual respect of the leaders of the two sister municipalities gave a note to the general cooperation, said the head of the culture sector of the city of Trebinje, Slađana Skočajić.

"We saw today what Trebinje thinks about Herceg Novi, we saw that the love is obvious and mutual," said Skočajić.

The ceremonial parade was attended by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, Nenad Vitomirović and the director of the Public Institution of Culture Herceg fest, Tatjana Ateljević.

The caravan of the 56th Mimosa Festival will visit Nikšić and Podgorica tomorrow.
