The National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTO CG) in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Industry participated for the second time at the "Travel & Adventure Show" tourism fair in New York.
The fair lasted from January 25-26 and was an excellent opportunity to introduce potential tourists and key partners from the USA and the world to the beauty and various vacation opportunities offered by our destination.
The delegation of Montenegro at this fair was led by Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić, State Secretaries Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković, and advisor to the director of the NTO Montenegro Amel Dedeić.
"The tourism fair in New York is extremely important for Montenegro because it provides a unique opportunity to present the tourist potential of our country on one of the largest and most dynamic tourist markets in the world. This year, we are determined to further strengthen our presence and increase the recognition of Montenegro among American tourists and partners. Our goal is to position Montenegro as an indispensable destination for American tourists who are looking for authentic experiences, a high level of service and unforgettable experiences. The importance of this fair is also represented by the fact that the headquarters of the largest international organizations are located in New York, whose representatives expressed their readiness for cooperation and support for the development of Montenegrin tourism and the diversification of our economy at our joint meetings," said Kordić.
On this occasion, the adviser to the director of the NTO of Montenegro, Amel Dedeić, pointed out the potential of the US market, as well as the growing interest of American tourists when it comes to Montenegro as a tourist destination.
"According to the data of the Monstat Administration of Statistics, we had over 52 thousand tourists in Montenegro during the 11 months of 2024, which is a 9% increase compared to the previous year and a 48% increase compared to 2019. American tourists made 226,839 overnight stays, which is 12% more than in 2023 and even 87% more than in 2019. Recognizing the potential of this market, the NTO of Montenegro will have other promotional activities towards this market," said Dedeić.
Eartha Franklin, blogger and owner of the travel agency WOWCATIONS, visited the Montenegrin stand and said that she will visit Montenegro next summer.
"I am honestly delighted to see Montenegro at the fair, I think that this country has so much to offer and that it is attractive to tourists from America. I have heard so many good things about Montenegro that I can't wait to visit this beautiful country. One of my prolific video creators constantly posts beautiful places from Montenegro on her profile. Next summer, Montenegro is my choice," said Eartha Frankin.
Dina Amin, representative of the travel agency Envoy Adventure, also expressed her enthusiasm for Montenegro.
"I had the opportunity to visit Montenegro, but I only stayed for one day. However, this country surprised me in such a short time. We visited Gospa od Škrpjela and I am enchanted by that place. However, the biggest impression on me was the people, their warmth and sincerity," said Amin.
